Alumni UK Skills Series

Alumni UK is pleased to offer a free professional skills series to all our members. This series of online webinars is designed to support your professional development by focusing on critical skills such as leadership, strategic communication and intercultural collaboration. The webinars will be delivered regularly throughout the year.

What is Alumni UK?

Alumni UK is a global community of people who studied with a UK university as an international student. Grow your worldwide professional network, continue learning and share your experience and expertise with others. Find resources to develop your career and new opportunities to help you succeed.  

Who is eligible to join Alumni UK?

Alumni UK is for anyone who studied with a UK university as an overseas student. You need to have spent at least one term at a UK higher education institution enrolled on a credit-bearing course. This includes transnational or online education.

Intercultural Skills (CQ): Part 1

Strengthen credibility, trust and connections with diverse stakeholders through increased intercultural skills.

• Predict cultural preferences based on context and cultural identity
• Clarify expectations in intercultural situations using your listening and questioning skills
• Communicate with confidence and ease in uncomfortable intercultural situations

Intercultural Skills (CQ): Part 2

Monday 30 June - 13.00 BST

• Shift your cultural perspective to connect positively with others across cultural differences
• Use strategies that critically engage with bias to enable an inclusive team
• Facilitate collaboration using effective practices for intercultural interactions
